Description
Long ago the six kingdoms of Kaladria set aside their wars to face a common enemy pouring from a gate in the mountains of Eterna. The peace that followed raised a tower over that gate and bound a demon hero to guard it, neutral in all human affairs. He has broken that neutrality three times. This is the third.
Ryuji Sato arrives at the School of Knowledge for Gifted Children having spent a year taking contracts from the Adventurers' Guild in the dark forests. The academy was founded for research and has since become a playground for nobles, where commoners are prey. He is not looking for improvement. He is looking for answers, and he does not intend to explain why.
The Battle of the Kings will decide who rules the school for a year. Winning it will make him a target. Losing it, he decides, would make him a coward — and he has just promised someone he would never lose on purpose.
Fate may be cruel at times... but it does not define who we become. Our actions do.
