Victor the Third

Overview

Victor the Third is the last recorded king of Lindsey before its fall and the ruler whose actions create the First Transgression. Volume I describes him as simple-minded, greedy, and easily manipulated. The Eterna Mountains, where the Tower stands, had belonged to his kingdom before the war.

Two years after the Tower’s establishment, Victor leads his army toward it despite a warning from a frightened demon. He dismisses the warning as a bluff and advances. Shun appears alone before the army, wins against the overwhelming force, and Victor dies in the battle.

Connections

Victor’s death connects him to Shun and the Tower’s earliest public history. The fall of Lindsey is also part of Elian Stewart’s background, making the First Transgression a lasting political wound rather than an isolated battle.
