The Crown of Lindsey

A failing royal line

The Crown of Lindsey was the royal house of the western kingdom that once controlled Eterna. Volume I describes its monarchs as a long line of corrupt rulers, a legacy that had already brought the kingdom close to collapse before the Gate crisis. Its final reign shows how a court’s desire to restore lost influence can make a weak state choose a disastrous war.

Victor the Third

Victor the Third was the last known king of Lindsey. Easily manipulated by those around him, he accepted the claim that the Treaty of Hope was false and led thirty thousand soldiers through Eterna to take the Tower. His refusal of the Tower’s warning and his death in the ensuing battle made his house inseparable from the First Transgression.

End of the crown

The Crown did not outlast Victor. Agabah and Helio attacked Lindsey after its breach of the treaty, overwhelmed its depleted forces, and divided the kingdom. With the state gone, the royal line is remembered through the catastrophe its final king provoked and through survivors such as Elian Stewart.
