The Kingdom of Helio

North-western kingdom

Helio is Kaladria’s largest kingdom, occupying the north-west and renowned for fertile vineyards and broad olive gardens. Its agricultural abundance and scale make it an important counterweight in the continent’s human politics, even though Volume I follows its role chiefly through the aftermath of Lindsey’s fall and the standing of House Dion.

War against Lindsey

When Victor the Third attacked the Tower in defiance of the Treaty of Hope, Helio joined Agabah in a coalition against Lindsey. Both framed their action as a response to Lindsey’s breach of the treaty and threat to the human–demon peace. Their forces took Lindsey’s lands after its defences were exhausted on two fronts.

House Dion

House Dion rose in Helio through exceptional mercantile strength. Its daughter Sophia Dion arrives at the School carrying the assurance of a great Helian house, and her treatment of Ryuji gives the kingdom’s distant rank culture an immediate consequence in Chiseido.
