Michika Midori

Overview

Michika Midori is a junior student at the School of Knowledge for Gifted Children, recognisable by her short light-green hair, glasses, and librarian-like dress. She is introduced when Riki Shibatani, Sophia Dion, and other nobles have beaten and mocked her near the dining hall. The scene makes her vulnerability a direct example of the school’s abuse of weaker students.

Ryuji Sato intervenes after finding her injured, and the confrontation reveals that Nori Morita had stood apart from the assault. Michika becomes central to the later schoolyard conflict because her portal magic enables a defensive escape and makes her a target in the struggle between Ryuji’s group and the nobles.

Connections

Michika’s rescue ties her to Ryuji, while Nori’s eventual choice to protect her exposes the limit of his loyalty to Riki. Her experience is a central human consequence of the hierarchy that the new King tries to overturn.
