Martial lineage

The Raijin Family is a Hikari martial house associated with paired katana and wakizashi, disciplined coordination, lightning, and movement so fast it can distort an opponent's perception of time. Yumi Raijin carries that art as Satomi's Royal Knight.

Duty and choice

Yumi's training does not make her service automatic. During the Tower refuge, Shun challenges the idea that her family name should decide her life. Yumi answers that she chooses Satomi and chooses what her blades protect. Chapter 17 makes that agency central when she rejects Shun's attempt to keep her from following her queen.
