Overview
Takane Raijin is the mother of Yumi Raijin and a master of the Raijin sword style. She is named for the first time in Chapter 19, in a warning Satomi Hikari shouts across the battlefield.
The usurper's training
Satomi warns Shun Sato that Arata Hikari trained under Takane personally and therefore knows the secrets of the Raijin style. This identifies the source of the speed Arata uses throughout the Battle of a Thousand Shadows — the same discipline that Yumi, Takane's own daughter, turns against him.
The published story does not yet say when the training took place, on what terms, or whether Takane knew what Arata would eventually use it for.
The family's neutrality
The Raijin family declined to take a side in the Hikari Civil War, electing instead to serve whichever claimant prevailed. Yumi received that news in silence. Takane does not appear in person at any point up to this boundary.
